What I missed is that I did not know I could schedule a call and have a phone meeting which would have helped a lot and they could have sped the process up.
I have discussed with the team and they were understanding and I know its not easy trying to satisfy everyone. Even down to my right click custom menu, this takes time.
I have completed it now but it took me not 2 hours, but 10 hours! that is because I have to work out what needs doing, learn how to do it again and then trial and error to do it. My issue with the process is that I am a builder, supervisor and designer, not a CAD expert, and I know how to use the product when set up, as I do not customise and set up the system often, (in fact 5 years ago) this knowledge is lost and therefore I have to learn it again. Therefore yes indeed it came down to manual update of all my setting and customized preferences.
The issue of transferring from one computer to another is not easy at all when you install a new version of ACAD and have an old one on the other computer. The team Bernard and Mi le were very helpful and my web back up process will be able to press forward. I was happy with that process and now understand it.
I have a business to run and at the moment its on hold, this is 2 days now, I need support!įirstly I have just had a good phone meeting with the technical support team and talked through the issues of the loss of A360 which is now web based. Autodesk have taken my subscription for years and there is no Australian tech support number for the one time I need help? Even logitech had an Australian tech line and they helped me immediately, I bought the mouse 2 years ago but they still helped me by phone. Okay so for the first time in years I need help and call Autodesk, all I can get is a case number that I have to hope someone will answer in the next unknown time. Surely this is a joke, surely I just import my settings that I have developed over the last 5 years? Even if I can find it its a risk to my computer security from an unknown website. what? that means downloading from where? that's is not easy, you cant find 2018 and its not in my account on Autodesk anymore. Okay relax, go to you tube and check with cadalyst expert posts, advice: you have to download a free trial version of ACAD2018 and install it to your computer and migrate 2018 to 2018 and then pull 2018 - 2019. Now import to ACAD 2019 seems logical, oh no, you can not do that, its asks you to have the old 2018 installed on the new computer, what?
So next step export old setting from 2018 to a flash drive, the zip file exports no problem. new ACAD installed and working okay, but its all generic set out. joining arcs and polylines undesirably creates splines 1Ībsolute frustration: set the scene: new computer and windows 10 set up installed my new ACADlt 2019, Old computer 2018 acadlt and windows 7.Graphics card supporting AutoCAD LT 2022 1.faster feet and inch input Autocad LT 1.
